Raphael is an experienced medical industry professional, developing the clinical innovation business unit at Baehl Innovation. Before joining our team in 2020, he held leadership roles at various international companies, including Mölnlycke Health Care, Boston Scientific, Acelity/KCI Medical, and Medtronic.
He has expertise in medical affairs/ medical marketing, clinical research and development, market access and health economic outcomes research. At Baehl Innovation, Raphael ensures medical innovations are designed to meet clinical needs and that they match cost-benefit consideration from an early stage along the quickest track possible. He has strong relationships in the international medical community where he has also built compelling evidence portfolios for market release, regulatory compliance, reimbursement and commercial adoption.
Raphael is a medical doctor (MD) from the Medical School at Vrije University in Amsterdam. He spent two years as research assistant in Cardiovascular Physiology and was a plastic surgery Resident at the Free University Medical Center in Amsterdam. Raphael is a member of the Medical Devices Working Group at the Medical Affairs Professional Society and speaks fluent Dutch, English and German, with basic knowledge of French.
